Homework #10

Chapter 5 : 40

Chapter 6: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 15, 18

Hints/comments:

6.3) you'll need some data from problem 6.2; answer should be 363.8 K

6.7) my answer is P=3773 bar

6.8) I obtained (a) DHvap=45.722 kJ/mol, (b) T=376.1 K, (c) T=375.8 K

6.15) Note that the bubble diameter is given, not the bubble radius. Note that this bubble has 2 (!) interfaces, inside and out and not 1 (liquid/vapor) as in eqn. 6.26. Thus, the answers in the back of the book are correct.
